Using LibGuides in Blackboard
Trying to figure out a way to be where the students are, which, given the number of places WCC students are, is no small feat. One place that is nearly universal to the academic experience at WCC however, is the college learning management system, Blackboard. A content item, "Ask a Librarian," which linked to a page of methods for contacting the librarians seemed insufficient. It became obvious that students enrolled in courses with a research component could benefit from increased collaboration with librarians. Links to library resources in course sites where students can easily find and interact with the information and with librarians famaliar with their assignments was the answer!!
