BORROWING POLICIES (College ID Card/Library Card required): LOAN PERIODS
  • Current WCC students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Residents or employees of Westchester County
  • Current SUNY students
  • WCC Alumni
  • Community Users: Residents and employees of Westchester County, as well as certain other groups, may check out materials. Librarians will provide reference services to community users as time and staffing permit; interlibrary loan and remote access to subscription databases are available only to students, faculty, and employees of Westchester Community College.

Books

  • Students: 3 weeks, no max. (limit: five on one topic)
  • Faculty: 16 weeks, no limit
  • Staff: 3 weeks, no limit
  • All others: 3 weeks, 10 max. (limit: five on one topic)

DVDs

  • Students: 1 week. (limit 3)
  • Faculty: 1 weeks (no limit)
  • Staff: 1 week (limit 3)
  • All Others: Library use only (limit 1)

Periodicals

  • Students: Library use only (no limit)
  • Faculty: 1 weeks (no limit)
  • Staff: 1 week (no limit)
  • All Others: Library use only (no limit)

Course Reserves (Textbooks)

  • Students:  2 hours Library use only (limit 1 + workbook)
  • Faculty: As needed (no limit)
  • Staff: Library use only (limit 2)
  • All Others: Loans not permitted
LAPTOP LOAN FOR STUDENTS Currently enrolled WCC students may check out a laptop  for the semester.  For more information please consult the laptop loan policy
OVERDUE MATERIALS LOST MATERIALS

Fines are not levied for overdue materials*. Due dates are in effect.

*Late fee for course reserves $1 per hour late.

Lost Materials: Students: Cost of item + $10 processing fee

Faculty: Cost of item

Staff: Cost of item

All Others: Cost of item + $10 processing fee

RULES OF CONDUCT

WIFI
    image of food not allowed Refrain from eating or drinking.
    image of person not allowed to talk Observe quiet areas as posted; set earphones low so as not to disturb others.
    image saying cell phone use isn't allowed Cell phone conversations must be conducted outside the building.
Free campus WiFi may be accessed from your mobile device inside and outside the library building. Campus Computer Use Policy applies to all usage.
COMPUTER USE PRINTING
The Library follows the campus Computer Use Policy. Users working on assignments have priority in their use. Users may be asked to give up their seat if they are not working on school or research assignments when there is demand by other users for course or research work. Networked and wireless printers are located on the first and second floors of the library. Sign-in with network or MyWCC ID is required of users from the campus community.

GROUP STUDY ROOMS FILMING IN THE LIBRARY
SUNY Westchester students can reserve (hyperlink word reserve) a group study room for academic purposes only.  Reservations are a maximum of two hours for groups of two or more students with capacities listed below. Only one reservation is permitted per day for any individual within the group. The College's College’s Code of Conduct policy and Internet and Computer Policy applies to all the study rooms; eating or drinking are also prohibited. The library reserves the right to remove or suspend users from rooms who violate the conduct and computer policies and report the incident in accordance with the College Code of Conduct policy.  All filming requests from students, faculty, staff, and administrators must be submitted to the Division Coordinator of Campus Security (914-606-6730 Room 118, Student Center). External organizations are required to coordinate filming requests through the Office of Creative Communications.
