As tutors and librarians, we share the mission of promoting student success in the areas of writing, research, and in giving proper attribution to sources. When a student's professor requires them to support their writing with outside sources, we are here to help them find the most credible, relevant, accurate, and authoritative sources, as well as to advise them on proper citation of those sources in the desired format.
Librarians can help students to:
1.) Select and refine topics
2.) Develop research strategies
3.) Find appropriate sources
4.) Cite information appropriately (In-Text and Bibliographies)
5.) Help with advanced & specialized assignments, such as Lit Reviews, Business Information, and Case Studies. Specific help is provided via Class Research Guides.
6.) Make Referrals to Other Libraries and Interlibrary loan
The Library website offers numerous ways for the students to ask questions and answers to frequently asked questions are posted on Ask a Librarian.
Our overall priority is to empower students to become strategic explorers and critical thinkers as they learn to find and evaluate information sources. We therefore strive to teach students how to locate, evaluate, and apply the information themselves.
