Reference List
The reference list at the end of a research paper provides information to identify and retrieve each work cited in the text. The basic elements of a reference are the author, date, title, and source.
Reference List Rules: Invert authors’ name, providing last name, and initials. Example: Author, A. A. Provide surnames and initials for up to and including 20 authors. Use an ampersand before the final author’s name. Example: Author, A.A., Author B.B., & Author, C.C. When there are 21 or more authors, include the first 19 authors’ name insert an ellipsis … and then add the final author’s name.
Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Many references can be retrieved via a DOI, an alphanumeric string that identifies content. It is also a persistent link of access on the internet. Include the DOI for all references that have a DOI whether the source is print or online.
