This Guide can help with your research and APA citation help.  Please consult the following tabs for help with both.  If you need more help you can contact your course librarian, Josh Weber, to meet either face to face or via zoom.

The paper is divided into phase 1 (proposal) and phase 2 (final paper).

Guidelines: This is an investigation into good health and well-being (UN Sustainable Development Goal # 3). We are the UNSD # 3 as our dependent variable. Choose one of the leading causes of death and other diseases in the US from the list below.

For the proposal (phase 1) …

Briefly summarize how the UN defines good health and well-being. Then, provide your own definition. You should Interview three people (family and friends) and compare their understanding of the concepts (good health/well-being) with yours and that of the UN. Discuss similarities and differences.

Briefly discuss your future major and specific profession you intend to pursue. For the independent variables, select specific contributions made by and from your future profession to good health and well-being.

The proposal should be about one-to-two pages long, double-spaced, and a12-point font.

List of majors we discussed in class is below.

1, STEM – Engineering, Neuroscience, Psychology.

2. Medical field – Pre-medicine, Nursing

3. Social Sciences/Humanities: Law Enforcement, Pre-law, Education.

Phase 2

Instructions: investigate the historical context, events, past decisions, and the impact of the contributions you selected.

Provide evidence to support your assertions (two peer-reviewed articles plus other reputable sources).
