AND Position Papers: explain the Association's stance on issues that affect the nutritional status of the public. Positions, which consist of a position statement and a support paper, are based on sound scientific data.
Class is held in Drimmer Library Rm. 220 – Librarian will demonstrate how to use library resources; how not to plagiarize, MLA format for bibliography.
Instructions:
- Find one (1) AND (or ADA before 2013) position paper. (Articles that are not formal position papers of the AND are not acceptable substitutes.)
- Read the paper and write a report to include the following information listed below.
❖ Report should include this information:
- Summary of article with a description of at least three (3) major points made in the article.
- What did you learn from the article?
- How has this information impacted your ideas about your career in dietetics?
❖ Format of paper should include:
- Typed, font 11 or 12, double spaced, Essay form (not bullet points), Correct spelling and use of English. 1-2 page paper in length. No longer than 2 pages.
- Include Title of the AND position paper & include AND position paper.
- When referencing article in paper, use statements such as “according to the article”, “the authors state”, “the article states”, “it is noted in the article” etc.
- Correct citation (identify author, article, and source.)
- Use "MLA Citation Format Guide" available at the WCC Library Circulation Desk or website as a reference.
