Final Research Paper

Write an argumentative research essay on the topic you have been exploring. Your paper should:

  • be a MINIMUM of 4 pages (~1000 words) long 
  • be contextualized within what others have said about your topic
  • take a clear stand on what you believe and why 
  • support your argument with evidence from 4-5 sources, paraphrased and quoted
  • stay focused on the main argument and show the connections (using transitions) between your ideas and your various sources
  • include a counter-argument and refute that argument
  • be well-organized, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion
  • be clearly and coherently written
  • include a title and a Works Cited page (separate from the page count)

Sources types:

-At least one article from a scholarly journal (library!)
-Other articles (print or online) – from magazines,newspapers, etc.
-Videos / TED Talks, podcasts, documentary films areall fine too!
-NO Wikipedia articles (though you may want to readthese for general information or to search for sources)
-Other general reference articles are okay but only onewill count towards your total number of sources
-NO Artificial Intelligence (this just summarizes varioussources from around the web – you need to go to theoriginal!)
