This guide has general information about Muhammad Ali for students who are interested in learning about his life and for Prof. Haycock's paralegal students studying Ali's trial that went to the Supreme Court because of his refusal to fight in the Vietnam War. 

World Heavyweight Champion Cassius Clay loses his boxing title and faces a possible 5-year prison term, His offense: refusal to take the oath of induction into the Army, His defense: as an ordained Black Muslim minister he feels he should be exempt.
