WCC Academic Honesty Policy

Consequences of Academic Dishonesty:

If a student is found guilty of academic dishonesty, faculty members have the right to either:

Fail the student for the assignment/test.
Fail the student for the course.
File a letter of complaint, describing the infraction, with the Academic Dean of Student Personnel Services or any combination of the above. The Dean may elect to pursue College disciplinary action against a student who is reported to that office for a subsequent act of academic dishonesty.

A second reported infraction may result in suspension. A third reported infraction may result in expulsion at the discretion of the Vice President and Dean, Student Development and Support Services.

Am I quoting someone else's words?	Yes	You are not plagiarizing if you use quotation marks and CITE THE SOURCE. You are plagiarizing if you do not quote, cite and give credit to the author!
Am I using someone else's idea, but putting it into my own words?	Yes	You are not plagiarizing if you CITE THE SOURCE. You are plagiarizing if you do not cite and give credit to the author!
