In ARTStor click IMAGES in top search bar. Enter relevant term and click on search type (work type, material, style or period) to focus your results. (Also found under Advanced Search in JSTOR). *Searching Images includes more content than in ARTstor alone.
Click the Images box to start searching for artworks for your projects. You can also start by clicking on the ArtStor logo below the collections box. If you are looking for articles about your artwork, use the All Content box.
The search via the ARTSTOR icon link includes search by Title, Author/Creator and Description. Description will search the museum description of the artwork and is useful when searching by thematic elements or concepts (e.g. rebirth, rhythm) that are not part of the title.
Use the limiters to narrow down results. *Note the date should be 1400 not 1300 CE for this class!
Click Download to save high quality images (in a zip folder for multiple files). Click CITE for citation. Double check with relevant citation format guide to ensure accuracy. *Please note the citations are often not 100% accurate (e,g. artist name should be Lastname, Firstname).
Scroll down to see if related journal articles or other artworks are linked. Check dates of artwork as they may not be within appropriate time range for assignment.
Use the limiters on the left pane to narrow results by time period, geographic location, classification (painting, sculpture etc), and collection.
