Let’s say that you see an article and/or book that WCC does not have access to digitally, or physically, but you are really interested in getting it. We offer a service called interlibrary loan. We go outside of our system to get the article and/or book for you from another library. Articles are emailed to you and books arrive at the library for you to pick up. Articles are usually emailed to you within twenty four to forty eight hours after the request is sent and books generally take no more than two weeks to arrive. It depends on where the book is being sent from.
To request a book or article for Interlibrary Loan, take the following steps:
1. Click on the Catalog tab and search for the book. Difficulty locating the item? Make it an Advanced Search and select Search other Libraries.
2. Looking for an article? Click Advanced Search and select Search SUNY Libraries
3. When the item is located, click the link Get it.
4. Under How to Get it sign in with your MYWCC Email/Password.
5. Click Resource Sharing under How to Get it.
6. Review the request and click Send Request.
7. You will receive a confirmation and status updates via email.
