Step 1: Click on Time of Transaction box to select date and time of service
Step 2: Select Mode of Inquiry, Type of Request, Total Time Spent in Minutes, and Submit
Step 3: If you are only entering technical assistance data just enter Date/Time of transaction, select Yes or No and Submit
Directional: Questions that guide users to a particular location, i.e. referrals to extension sites, personnel, departments. Include inquiries to locate library materials. Exclude referrals to technician
Reference/Research: Information consultations in which a librarian recommends, interprets, evaluates, and/or uses information resources to help others meet particular information needs. (ALA) Include inquiries that instruct users to find library materials or requires librarian to accompany user to shelves. Include communication about library services.
Technical Assistance: Questions that instruct users in utilizing non-research related tools. Include MYWCC, Blackboard, software, and printing issues.
