Prof. Meehan; Eng. 101 - FALL 2023 : Home

Your Current Assignment -

You are to write an argument outline paper.

  • Choose an issue that interests you and has more than one side to it; it can be social, political, environmental, or something of local interest.
  • Find two opposing sources on the same issue and discuss which argument or source you find more compelling.
  • Outline and explain the argument of each opposing side.
  • Then, choose one side which you agree with, and argue for why you think that side is correct, and rebut the other.

Your Research Assignment - due later in the semester

Welcome! This research guide was created for students in Prof. Meehan's Fall 2023 Eng. 101 class.

This guide is a customized resource for this assignment.

Your assignment is to write a 10-15 page research paper on a topic of your choice by the end of the semester using between 5-7  sources.

You will need to document your sources with in-text citations and a Works Cited page using MLA 9 style formatting.

If you have any questions about research and citations, don't hesitate to get in touch with me at rebecca.steere@sunywcc.edu.
