Welcome! This research guide was created for students in Prof. Burn's English 101 Writing and Research class and is a customized resource for this assignment.
You must write a persuasive research paper about a topic of your choice.
A persuasive essay is one in which you attempt to get the reader to agree with your point of view and show that your opinion is more legitimate. Use clear arguments and support them with convincing facts and logical reasons.
Use resources that show that you can support your ideas.
You will need to include an annotated bibliography as part of the research process when finding and assessing your sources.
Citing your sources is an essential component of any research assignment. Your essay should include parenthetical (in-text) citations and a Works Cited page using MLA 9 style formatting.
