Prof. Courage: ENG102 - Essay #2: Books & Media

This guide is for students in ENG102 with Prof. Courage who are working on Essay #2.

E-Book Collections

Search the e-book collections to find literary criticism. Search either {Title of work} or {author name} + Criticism and look at the Table of Contents in the citation.

Short stories are often discussed as a group by an individual author or focused on a theme by several authors so you may not find articles or chapters discussing an individual short story, unless it is very well known (i.e. The Yellow Wallpaper).

Remember!

You do not need to read an entire book cover to cover to cite it in your paper. Use the Table of Contents (at the front) or the Index (at the back) to find the section or pages that discuss your topic in detail and read that.

How to Find Books and Media

Search the library catalog to find Books and other Media in the Harold L. Drimmer Library.

Use your keywords to find books on your topic. If your first search doesn't turn up many results, try changing your keywords. (e.g. search National Football League or Football instead of NFL)

Enter your search terms and click SEARCH. Click on a title for more information. Look at the table of contents or description to see if the book might be helpful.

To find a physical book on the WCC Library shelves, you will need the CALL NUMBER and LOCATION.

Click on the TITLE link to read the Description and Table of Contents to see if it would be useful to your research.
