Prof. Martucci ENG 101 Spring 2020: Home

A Persuasive Research Essay in which you make an argument on an issue of your choice and defend that argument by applying sufficient, varied, academically appropriate sources that you have found through your research. Note: This Essay will be submitted twice, for two separate grades: a First Draft and a Revised Final

Essays must meet MLA standards for font size and spacing (12” Times New Roman Font, double spaced), and submitted through the Blackboard Assignment page.  ALL ESSAYS MUST INCLUDE PROPER MLA CITATIONS
You must hand in each essay; a missing essay may result in failing the course.

Essays are graded based on the rubric attached to them; please look on Blackboard for the grading rubric and review it before writing each essay.
You are encouraged to revise each essay.  The revised essay will require you to 1) discuss the revision with me; 2) write a 1 page summary of what you did to improve the paper and 3) highlight in yellow or green the sections of the paper that you added/edited/changed etc….  Revisions are due within 2 weeks after receiving the original graded essay back from me.
Late essays will be marked down with no opportunity to revise. I will not accept any essay over 2 weeks late.
All inclusion of outside sources must be properly documented in MLA format.  Essays that are plagiarized in any way will receive a zero.
It is your responsibility to submit the essay correctly in a readable format (.doc or .pdf) through Blackboard; if I can’t read it, I can’t grade it and it will be considered late.

Annotated Bibliography/Works Cited
For the research essay you will be required to submit an Annotated Works Cited/Bibliogrpahy page BEFORE submitting the essays. No essays will be accepted without these assignments being submitted first.
